Prices for air travel are getting dirt cheap. And while they're dropping in Y, they're dropping faster for F seats.

I know that we pilots are cheap, but I cannot fathom how any pilot still uses 'nonrev benefits' with ticket prices as cheap as they are.
My thoughts exactly.

Any significant changes to retirement benefits with the new contract that aren't addressed here?

I'm tracking it's 25 years for a full retirement, including lifetime flight benefits. Is that still the case? Anything pilots hired post-COVID should be thinking about regarding the company retirement?

Flight benefits are company policy driven , not contract and yes it’s 25 years.

17% starting 2024 direct contribution moving to 18% in 2026. Overflow above irs limits currently goes to retirement health account but in 2025 will have a market based cash balance plan option.

Flight benefits alone are based on years of service and the age at retirement. For instance if you retire at 55, you are eligible for flight benefits with as little as 10 years of service.

Alot of misinformation here. Yes, it's based on years of service but also age hired. In my example, hired at age 40. Need at least 13 years to punch w/ full flight benefits. Which is the plan at 53...

It’s not based on aged hired, but the age when you retire. Retiring at 53 requires a minimum of 14 years of service. The retiree pass travel program is on flying together/employee res. Reference the table on page 3.

To clarify, it’s 25 years for qualify for fee-waived first class pass travel. To qualify for normal flight benefits, as others have said, is based on age at retirement and years of service.
  • 45 - 50 years of age and 20 years of service
  • 51 years of age and 18 years of service
  • 52 years of age and 16 years of service
  • 53 years of age and 14 years of service
  • 54 years of age and 12 years of service
  • 55 years of age and 10 years of service
  • 65 years of age and 5 years of service
NOTE: The policy for United pilots hired before Dec. 1, 2011, remains in effect. This policy permits these pilots to attain retiree pass travel privileges if they are at least 50 years old with at least 10 years of service or if they are at least age 60 with five years of service.

Fee waived first class after 25 years of service. Does that apply to eligibles too, enrolled friends?

Retirees with 25 or more years of active service, and their eligible pass riders, receive fee-waived pass travel in all cabins system wide.

The $425 question. Can you even use the benefit? You and the honey wanna go Denver to anywhere… just plan 2 days to travel, each way?
