End goal is United...
Hello everyone!
I’ve reached that point in my flying career that it’s time to select my first regional airline job. I come from flying part 91 and 135 in two different types of turboprops. I hit my ATP minimums a few months ago. I am wondering what regional airline United prefers to hire from. I have been told there are some that United prefers. I wanted to see what you all thought. I don’t want to go to one that could hurt my chances of getting on at United. I know there is more to being selected by United than just flying for a regional (4 year degree, 121 TPIC, Training Department, LCA, volunteer etc) I’m just trying to make the best informed decision. I appreciate you all taking the time to read my post and reply. Thank you, Newbto121 |
You could read this thread, and get the impression that there is a preferred, but it's not really true now. And the CPP ISN'T a preferred thing for UAL, it's simply something they are complying with. But read some of the other posts in the thread. Short answer? NO, they don't care

Something to consider it pay a prep service scan your AirlineApps Application for errors. I like Cage Consulting, especially for United. They are great and easy to work with. I worked with DeeDee. The reason I say this is because there might be errors on your app that you don't really know about and they can fix them.

XJT all the way...
|
Some say it doesn't matter but out of the 38 in my new hire class 12 came from XJT. About 10 prior military. 2 or 3 corporate and the rest were spread around from the other regionals.
BUT I will say if you have an opportunity to live where you work then go there. |
Thank you all for the advice. I appreciate it a lot!

Just had a guy in the Jumpseat last week, commute air and he got to United in just over 2 years . Impressive IMO. Many have waited over a decade and yet to receive a call .
I’ve dont have better knowledge than that story , and I HATE Dead Heading on them cause their planes are typically the most trashed and their operation always seems to be cancelling and falling apart way more than XJT. However I would put up with anything to get United within 2/3 years. |

IF he's a Commutair CPP, he's in a very small club since their success as well as "release" numbers are crappy, just like XJT's. And IF he's a CPP, made it here that fast, he came to Commutair with a healthy amount of 121/Turbine experience to hit the requisite flight time to qualify. |
