Default vacancy 19-11 results

The results are out. Here are the unfilled vacancies:

GUM 737FO 4 unfilled
SFO 320FO 25 unfilled
SFO 737FO 63 unfilled
SFO 756FO 23 unfilled

They haven't "forced" anybody to GUM recently, but I am sure it would be available if somebody asks for it.

The July classes will still have unfilled vacancies from the 19-09 vacancy bid, but those will all expire before the August classes. So, unless they turn around quickly on another vacancy bid, the above will be the choices for the August classes.

How fast for a new hire to bid out of SFO?

Is there a year seat lock?

No seat lock if you upgrade from guppy/airbus to 756 or 777/787. Otherwise its 2 years.

Depending on the month and timing of bids there have been new hires bid out while they are still in training at TK. It wasn’t that long ago that everyone got EWR as new hires.

To clarify, no seat lock to switch bases. You can bid out of sfo within months, easily. If slots are available.

Company set min levels way low at other bases for the 73/75/Bus at most locations besides SFO on this vacancy to prevent backfills this time. If we get the massive Capt positions on the vacancies expected to prepare for next summer I’d guess you’ll see room to back fill rather quickly for those FO slots at multiple bases. Good luck.

The unfilled vacancies from 19-09 were pretty much the same as 19-11 except there were a few EWR 756. I don't know if the recent classes filled those yet. If you are looking to get to the east coast, bid any narrow body and wait til Sept-Dec and you can lateral over to EWR and possibly DCA. Activation of that bid may take awhile so if you are a July-Sept class I would expect to spend 6 months or so commuting to SFO.

14 737 SFO
16 A320 SFO
1 737 GUM (unfilled)
