Contract 202[?]

From today's NC update:
"While we are closer (to an agreement on Section 1) than we were at the start of the IBB process, we have not yet found enough common ground beyond a mutual interest in the long-term success of United Airlines and its pilots. We will continue to explore viable pathways forward to complete negotiations and present more options to the MEC...However, we do not expect to have anything further to report on the rest of the UPA until we find a breakthrough to Section 1."
Hey, at least they got us 2/3 of the way through summer before dropping the news that we're nowhere with no breakthrough on the horizon.

Did you really think we were close to a breakthrough?

Yes, ⅔ through the summer because nobody noticed on January 1st?

Reading all of the updates paints a far different picture than "no progress". Anyone who's shocked that scope is one of the last issues on the table either hasn't played this game before, or doesn't pay attention.

I wish someone knew why these updates were put out when there's no real progress to report: https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/2719351-post65.html

UA pilots are not motivated for a new UPA. F you might as well pay them to fly planes it's so COOL!

Bring back Dubinsky :D

Oh, definitely not. My post was mostly a commentary on having the summer scope summit to present the illusion of progress even though it was inevitably going to be a nothingburger.

It funny that the Company has violated the very section that they are seeking relief on. That in and of itself should be a huge red flag to any of us that don’t think scope is not that big of a deal.

If sarcasm was intended, I apologize. There are always folks who don’t even know their Alpa number, aren’t subscribed to email updates and never attend a local meeting. Those folks are always squawking about “no comm” from the Union.
