CLE
How hard would it be for a new hire to get CLE or how long to bid into it?
Thanks |

Thanks It’s possible that you could get lucky and get a bid (or bump) but the odds are not in your favor. The base is being phased out via attrition and manpower planning only expects minor adjustments to match the FOs to CAs. Once enough senior guys retire, it’s most likely gone. |
Get on the 737, put your standing bid in for Cle & hope against hope. Base trades are always a remote possibility. A couple FOs got awarded CLE last year. It can happen. You’d be junior forever and I mean FOREVER.

I have a buddy who was hired in the spring of 2016, he squeaked into CLE this spring at about three years. He is now deep on reserve with no schedule power and not much hope for improvement. He’s thinking about pulling up stakes and heading to NorCal where he’d be about 30% on the Guppy in SFO.

But if it means you don’t commute to reserve, it’s priceless.
Absolutely!!! It’s a completely different job. |
