Training Day Off

If a new hire needs a day off during training for an important event (adoption court hearing) can training accommodate? Example would be start training Dec 10 or first week of Jan but def need Jan 31st off. Thanks

hey man...not at ua yet, also waiting on a class date...probably best to ask them directly so you dont have to rely on 3rd hand knowledge from apc

I definetly will. Just more of a feeler or if anyone has experience. Thanks for the feedback

I would count on the fact they will accommodate. I wouldn’t turn down a class date to make sure you can be there. I’m 99% certain you will be able to work it out once you have your seniority #.

I would be extremely shocked if they weren’t able to accommodate that request. bring it up immediately before they build the training schedules and im sure the training schedulers can make it work out.

There are 4am sims available that would have you at the airport by 11am. Depending on how far of a commute to the hearing, keep that in mind. Also, the late sim is 2000-0200. Bring it up with your INDOC facilitator first week and they will put you in touch w the right people. Def don’t delay your INDOC class date.

They’ve given time off in training for child birth and other family events. They understand there are family needs and they’ll tell you at Indoc day 1 to not hesitate to bring those issues up so they can work with you on it.

I’m in the 10 Dec Class and I’m going to schedule an important date for 21 Feb (can’t go past that date) does anyone know of training is backed up in say the 73? I’m just curious if 11 weeks is enough time to complete the training from BI to Fleet. Thanks

It could be tight based on sim schedule, snow delays, holidays and whether or not you need additional training. Best to talk with your INDOC instructors after you get your aircraft assignment and let them guide you.
