The other methods require us to be released for self help, and that will not happen. If we do it outside of self help, it is illegal. The recent legal precedents are not in our favor either. For example when Spirit sued the pilots because they were not picking up open time like they had historically done. This was done during a stalemate of negotiations.

If you are thinking the Union is going to come out with some specific guidance on now is the time to change your behavior, then you are living under a rock. They will never ask us for that kind of "help." To do so would be illegal and it will never happen!!
That is why everybody must ask themselves "what are my long term goals?" and "is what I am doing today harming my ability to achieve those goals?" This has to be an individual decision and cannot involve any organized pressure from a group to change somebody else's behavior.

An overnight change in behavior is viewed as something that is being orchestrated by the Union.

I’m not worried about a $10K 3 day getting scooped up. What worries me is constantly seeing FO’s in my fleet (756) tripping over one another to pick up straight pay trips, many from out of base too. Even more unsettling is seeing the list of 30-50 FO’s wanting to pick up that weekend bunkie 767-400 trip out of EWR. We have a much bigger problem than premium pay pick ups.

Im sorry, I over exaggerated it being a problem. It isn’t a problem until we all start yammering about how our habits hurt by picking up premium trips hurt our long game. Sure, let people do what they want. But we can’t sit here and blame anyone for picking up premium pay trips when straight pay goes like hot cakes.
