Which just shows the ignorance and pettiness of their mentality

Which one? Safe? Reliable? On time? Comfortable? Or is that the pre core four thing?

I guess the Caring part.

We’re not asking them to give up anything. Just to allow pilots the use of the FA jumpseat. That could help a co-worker. But they choose no. Kind of a bad look (in the parlance of our times)

Yup. The AFA would rather that seat go out empty and strand a coworker then let a pilot use it.

“CASS prevents that.”

Hmmm? So, how do they get access in flight?

I used to work at Jetblue. We had a program that allowed flight attendants to sit on the flight deck Jumpseat. It was called an observation ride and they could do it once a year. The problem was some of them would do it 25-30 times a year and the Faa pulled it. So it can be done if all parties agree to the rules. I liked it for the most part. They could only use it if no other pilot (online or off) needed it.

I recently had a FA who celebrated her 50th anniversary with United. That means she’s been w/the company 2 1/2 times longer than JetBlu has been in existence. I don’t want to have to compete against that for a ride to work. My biggest beef is with FAA guys who show up 5 minutes before boarding and boot you off the one guppy JS. Make then ride on the FA jumpseats, especially when they’re just scamming a ride.

FAA inspectors don't just scam rides, it is part of their duty period and accounted for in the office and by their managers. If they're showing up five minutes prior to departure then they really screwed up.
