Whoa I didn't see that coming...

I guess this confirms the Boeing NMA is dead?

Ironically, you can probably thank the MAX for this. I think UA has been waiting several years for a NMA launch so we could get a 757 replacement... and the MAX crisis has postponed that indefinitely. We couldn't wait any longer for BA to get its act together... good for us.

So long to the A350 order if this is going to actually happen.

For UAL pilots, there is a CCS message with additional details about the A321XLR and the fleet plan in general.

The A350 deal is like the Civil War in parts of the south. It has been over for years, yet some won’t admit defeat or give up hope. This 321 order is great though. It will be able to do the oceanic flying that the 757 does, while the Max 10 chews up most of the runway in place of the 757 on domestic routes.

Couldn’t agree more. I’d be thrilled to see this plane come on line. Hopefully we could knock all the guppies off Hawaii too! One shouldn’t have to be punished going to the islands by flying that torture tube.

About time UAL pulled the trigger on this
