Get hired ASAP by either airline that calls you first!

A merger of Hawaiian and United is not out of the realm of possibilities. In fact, they are now sharing the costs of the new Hawaiian terminal in HNL HAL's B787-9's are the exact same as UAL's.

Well, because they are sharing the cost of a terminal building in HNL, of course!

The protectorates in the 50th state will not allow such a merger.

Actually always thought that it would be a good fit. Get us back into JFK (even a little) and fleets might work out nicely together. Plus, probably not as big of a Government issue vs a true LCC/National carrier like Jetblue, Spirit or Frontier.

But for now, think we have bigger things to worry about-
New Uniforms?!

I thought Southwest was supposed to buy HAL within 6 months of starting their Hawaii flying where they were going to dominate the market.

Maybe 1-2 years....after that it seems like it would get pretty old.
The thing some HNL commuters like about GUM is the compression, which means they make the commute only once per month rather than a traditional 4on/3off to SFO, for example. Different schedule with longer blocks away & longer blocks at home but less overall time in the commute month by month. IF you come to UAL and IF Guam is available to you, it’s certainly worth your consideration, but it’s such a small part of our overall operation, I wouldn’t base my career decisions heavily on that domicile is all I’m saying.

They got awfully quiet about the buyout/merger pretty quickly...Think they have to work on getting actual gate space in HNL first.
