You really don’t understand how interconnected this all is and are very divorced from the objective realities of what happens when people are forced to stay away from public spaces and each other.

If this were clearly going to be over in 10 days then I’d agree with you. It’s not, and your post will age very poorly in short order.

While we don't know for certain what will happen, I would put a lot of credence in your post. This is probably going to kill the economy.

Getting back to the original topic (which was very informative) I believe you can also get a free cell phone with minutes and texting (state specific), in addition assistance/help with energy costs (mainly heating) for your home.

I think the above programs are state and income dependent. Any other programs?

I understand a lot more about this than you my friend. And I've also endured much harder times than this through out my career, as well as many others.

Yes, the airline industry will change due to this. It's my belief they will scale back somewhat and regroup, and even slow down on expansions and take a more proactive action on growth. It's a wake up call for many. And yes, some guys will get furloughed and will take a while to get recalls. The purpose of the airline is to sell transportation to the public, not to supply high paying jobs to pilots. The latter is just labor, supply and demand. And that too fluctuates. Anyone coming into this industry expecting a smooth long career is only fooling themselves. Too many long before you have been down that road. And you're not special.

Nope, and nope. The economy will rebound, as will the markets. The airline industry will take a while, and in doing so, they will restructure, which means they will optimize operations. You'll probably see some fleet downsizing and route downsizing as they regroup. In other words, this has been a wake up call to the airline industry.

On the economy side, I see many industries booming. The US has now been hit broadside with the results of outsourcing so much of our economy to other countries, such as China. You'll start seeing those industries coming back to the US.

They will talk a big game but, in the end, profit will take priority and nothing will change. If toy company A comes back but toy company B does not...guess who will sell more toys? Anyone who shops at Walmart validates that every day.

Let this be a lesson to everyone who hasn’t been through one of these before... you should be planning for the “f” word the day you walk on property.

Living way within your means and saving the remainder, multiple sources of income, working spouse, etc.

Trump declaring a national emergency cancels out the Rail Road Labor act...the company can layoff anyone they want e.g. A/C specific in seniority or out of seniority...basically gives the company all the flexibility they need to keep planes flying that can and ones parked that cant...correct me if I'm wrong but as I read it that's the case.

So watch what you doom and gloom sayers wish for...

9/11 was a national emergency and that's not at all how it worked.
