Yes, I disagree this is the responsibility of the union. I'd say one's EMPLOYER should as they are the ones that hire, fire, and pay unemployment insurance.

(As an aside, United did provide this info the last time they furloughed me. So yeah, they know. )

In my first post I said I wasn't a United pilot. This was the only current thread not from 2008 that was discussing it and unfortunately my company wasn't a help. That's the reason I commented.

Default Unemployment

With LOA 20-05, has anyone looked to see if we are eligible for partial unemployment benefits? I have a cqmv, 2 weeks of vacation and 3 reserve days in November. I believe i could file for one week at least.

I imagine even if you are in the bottom tier you still make more $$ them the max unemployment payout.

Yep. Not to mention the requirement for the employer to certify that you are unemployed, which I would imagine they would say you’re employed. This is the reason why some lower income workers found it more beneficial to just not be employed at all when the COVID relief plus-up was active.

I agree. I do believe there was a CARES provision that provided a federal govt supplement for “under employment “ due to COVID but that has expired. Doubt you would here qualified anyway but not sure.
