Looking for an old funny pic
 

Somewhere I recently saw an old pic. Homeless guy wearing a United hat and jacket, with a picket sign that says “will fly for food,” or something similar. First saw it years ago.

Can’t find on the net...anybody have it to share?

I believe the one you're looking for used to hang in our old LHR ops. It was taken down after the merger. Always enjoyed looking at It while holding a breakfast sammich dripping with HP sauce. The photo was taken on the side of the road in PHX. Good story behind it. Not sure if the Capt who took it is still here.

That’s the one. Saw it on a pilot website within the last two weeks, and the same discussion you said. Should have screen snapped it!

The pilot was driving home when he passed the homeless man. He stopped, gave the man some money. If he agreed to have his picture taken and waited for the pilot to return he'd get more money. The pilot drove home, made a sign, grabbed his uniform hat and returned to the homeless man who.....was still waiting. What I can't remember was who kept the hat.

The story I read last week said he left the hat with the bum!

Makes sense. The Captain in question has quite the personality.

He must have retired because his name doesn't come up on the staffing page.
The picture you are talking about was taken during the Tilton BK days.
He also got some time on the beach for a "colorful" letter he sent to Tilton.
Great guy - a hoot to work with.
