Ok, how about 3900? Hiring was extremely quiet for a lot of years between 2005 and a few years ago when it picked up massively.

Except, where he went around the union to float concessions as another option.

Yes, by scaring the junior guys with job losses and senior guys with career expectations.

It takes out just about every post merger hire.

From TOTAL pilots on the seniority list, that's right about me...
March '08 L-UAL
From ACTIVE pilots?

From ACTIVE pilots?

The chainsaw math according to our MEC Chair:

Compute a furlough number using your assumed % of ACTIVE pilots. (Example: 30% of 11,675 = 3,503)

Subtract that result from the TOTAL list. (Currently 13,047)

That's the very approximate line not accounting for interim retirements or voluntary reductions.

Humor this none-US guy, if you will. Do the inactive numbers make the outlook better for the junior guys?

this is correct according to the MEC message, however Brian’s CCS memo today very specifically mentions 3900 and then the ACTIVE pilot number (11,675). Perhaps there was an earlier understanding using the percentage/total calculation but my read is that now we are talking about 11,675-3900=7,775 by early next year. I do believe there is gamesmanship involved regarding the cares 2 money

I thought I heard PC say on a call that 10,797 was the 8-Ball of the 2,250. So, another 1,650 lands at 9,147. That's just my guess. That would include a few pre-merger pilots.

3900 is a magic number. It is all of the post merger hires down to the number. What They have done is pitted our new generation of pilots against the old generation.

Negotiating in public and begging for concessions by putting the pilot group against one another.
