Voluntary Furlough

Trying to recall how the last Vol Furlough went in 2008 and wondered if I'm still following. If I remember, if the furloughs are announced next week for the 1750 on 10/1, then 250 11/1 and then 250 12/1; so if I'm senior to the most senior furloughee but will take the Voluntary my furlough date would be 12/1...I know people have worked through this before on this Forum but just want to verify for new employer. I filed a PDR and the response said..."should" be furloughed in seniority and the "should" has given me some doubt as to if I am reading the contract correctly or if I missed a loop hole.

LAXLUVR,

Last time we did this they let pilots bid by effective date. If it works the same way, the first batch of VF awards would be effective on October 1st. Those wanting to go later would wait to submit a VF request for the next date.

I do expect the company to send the 1st round furlough notices out next week and post the VF option on FT.

Thank you. I know the answers are some where else on this forum but I couldn't find them so I appreciate the time. I recall last time we were saying "get a job to save a job". If I remember we may have had as many as 150 pilots use the Voluntary furlough.

To add on, if you take the VF and then down the line are Involuntarily furloughed, do you retain the specific rights afforded by the VF? (i.e. displacement etc.)
