That is a sweet ride, so sweet that when we visit my family we buy tickets on the competition instead of United because flying 2 legs half way across the country in a RJ isn’t something that I’m spending my money on. Give me Southwest over a 50 seat rj any day. I really hope that Kirby wasn’t blowing smoke and that their days really are numbered. I wonder how much business we miss out on because of our weaker product. How many people pass on a cramped United 50 seat jet and buy a ticket on a Delta A220 or Southwest 737 instead?

Our mainline product is as good as the other US airlines, but when you factor in all of our tired and small rj’s, even a LCC offers a superior product much of the time. Delta got the 717 and then the A220, American is getting rid of the E-190, and United keeps using 50 seaters hoping for scope improvement.

Well, last time the IAH hub was attacked we pulled out of Charles DeGaulle (paris) and printed up a bunch of "Keep IAH strong" T shirts.
I guess this time we'll do something totally cool. We'll give away some gates, print some "Make IAH great again hats", and maybe start up non stop service to Yazoo City Mississippi.
