Default APA merge with ALPA[?]

APA joining with ALPA movement is heating up. Is there something we can do in regards contacting reps etc to help foster change with our brothers and sisters hurting at AA.

This is great news, think of all the moronic ideas they could come up with when they get in a room together.

I think someone over there took a look at ALPA fragmentation policy and realized that they would be better being ALPA than an independent union with no agreement in place in case American is not wholly purchased by another carrier.

This was my first thought. Being a non-ALPA carrier has bad implications for any potential SLI.

I hope ALPA does not allow this play right now. This is like asking the insurance company to write you a policy after you realize your house is on fire.

I seriously doubt that there is any real traction being gained over at AA to leave the APA, but if they ever did decide to leave, ALPA National would gladly take a percentage of every paycheck that they can.

Is there any historical precedent for an airline to leave a particular union, then rejoin voluntarily?
