The hat switch is still off, ASAIK. Don't recall it ever being turned back on.....But seriously, I always shake my head at the guys who follow the company guidance to the letter WRT the hat, yet ignore the most important part of the uniform-The ALPA pin on the tie. At least you know where their loyalty is.

Really? In almost 5 years, I've yet to see a pilot without an ALPA pin. Even the cappy that crossed the line had one on.

I see 'em occasionally. Not even scabs, newer guys. It always catches my eye because the tie just looks weird without it.

The hotel van seatbelt snagged my pin off one time and I couldn’t find it as a new hire. Can’t tell you how many dirty looks I got and one guy tried to lecture me. Captain saved me from further lecturing. But point is I would hate to be a guy who chooses to do that every day

That's funny.

I keep backup pins. I just don't want to deal with the drama.

It’s just a United cultural thing. Many people believe in wearing the pin and probably just as many if not more wear it just to avoid the drama.
