Default EWR 787 vs 777

OK Hive Mind, would love some advice...

Going to make the leap to WB FO at EWR. Looking for inputs on whether to pick 787 vs 777, mainly from a QoL standpoint. I live in base, less than an hour to the parking lot. I'll be reserve on both 85% on the 777 or 90% on the 787.

Any differences to bunkie life on either? Any differences on pre-covid trips that would make the choice easier? Chances of getting used and abused worse on one fleet vs the other considering that I live close; I'm guessing I can hide out better on the 777 since its a larger base?? Sleeping opportunities on 777 vs 787, is one easier than the other?

Thanks in advance?

Not EWR but on 787. Looks like TLV, NRT, JNB , DEL are going to be you good bunkie sleeping trips. The Europe ones are pretty, pretty, pretty short.
quick glance at 777 packet had some HNL, GRU, ATH, BOM as your Sleepers with much more Domestic and some Europe. So more domestic flying on. 777
Almost a wash but I like the 787 bunks and the plane in general. Don’t think you could go wrong either choice. I would pick 787. Going 6+ years on it

It depends on why you want to go to WB FO. If you are interested in flying the equipment, go 777 as you will have plenty of opportunities to do so given the domestic flying it does. If you are just looking for a higher paying income and have other stuff going outside of United that warrants your attention, go 787 where managing reserve at 90% will be easier.

Of course this could change, but the long term (whatever that means) was to shrink the 787 and keep the 777 as the long haul machine in EWR. The 787 will be relegated to a few long hauls and Europe, which translates into less efficient trips.

Take it for what that's worth... I fly the bus.

It will all be about supply & demand and customer experience.

if you can fill a 777 - it will be big foot

787 will be to premium biz but thinner routes e.g. MUC

756 more of a tourist machine

What’s the g-line at on the 777 & 787 in “normal” times? 85%?

About 80% seems to be the norm with most fleets, including those.

I don't know how to look at EWR... but for October, the SFO 777 FO G-Line is 46%.

How do you get 58%? I just see an employee number on the far right of the document showing who the G Line is.
