Varying times to CJO?

Just out of curiosity, why do majority of people get back a CJO mid of the following week after their interviews while some people mentioned saying they got their CJOs within a day or two? Why is there a varying time difference if the hiring board meets only once a week? Also, does a TBNT rejection gets sent out faster than a "yes"? Any insight in this? Thanks

I can't speak to what the timeline is now, but when I was interviewed last summer, took over a week and a half to get the CJO. The HR person told me before the interview that the senior HR personnel are attending "Oshkosh airshow" so that a delay in CJO is to be expected. Not saying your case is identical, but who knows what's on the calendar for the HR decision makers. Just keep trucking, hope for the best, you will hear back soon.

I interviewed last week and heard back in like 24.5 hours. I was told it could be the end of the week before I heard at the latest, but it didn't take that long. I totally understand the agony of the wait. Hopefully you hear back soon.

Thank you.
But I wonder how people from the same week are waiting out different lengths of time to hear back. Do they not process and review everyone from the same week?
And curious if it is a TBNT would it be sent out a lot faster than a yes?

I could be wrong but the information I heard was that the captain review board meets every day. I’m sure there are some days they can’t meet, but the majority of people I’ve heard from have said about 24 hours. I wouldn’t think a yes or a no would change the timeline.

Probably depends on the person and how badly they didn’t want to hire them. I know people who got the TBNT before the end of the day and also folks that took weeks. Same with CJOs. There’s probably some internal ranking system that determines to take or reject someone right away or keep them on the back burner until they decide if they’ve got a place for them or not.

Most wait 24 hours

I know a few Jan and Feb 2022 interviews that had CJO emails before they were on a plane back home. Most are getting the email 24 hours later. I was told at the end of my interview that the hiring committee was not meeting that day, so the earliest I could expect an email was the next day.

How long is it taking you guys from CJO to getting a class? I got the CJO about a month ago but still haven't heard anything about a class date. I know there's a backlog in training and a war in Ukraine, but am hoping they didn't forget about me. Anyone else in this situation? Thanks

Join the half-winger group on FB. Based on current numbers it's taking a month to get a class date. That class date is another month wait. So, that means about 2 months from CJO to BI.

New classes will slow down just for APR, so they can get caught up at the training center. They will ramp back up in May. The plan is to hire 2000 for 2022. Latest news from a meeting today.
