Jumpseat Question

Kind of an obscure question, but didn’t know where else to ask… I’m trying to go to Korea next month, and I saw United has brought back the SFO-ICN-PVG flights. Does anyone know if nonrevs/jumpseaters allowed to take that flight and get off in ICN? Or do they force everyone to stay through to PVG (seeing as I can’t enter China, I wouldn’t be allowed on the flight)? Thanks for any help!

If it’s just you, I would recommend looking into Atlas or Kalitta to get to Incheon. They both have a ton of flights there from CVG, LAX, ORD, and JFK.

I would do atlas… but sadly, they aren’t doing international jumpseats still due to covid. I’ll check on kalitta though!

We have a standalone SFO-ICN flight. I don't see why you couldn't just jumpseat on that, unless it's because loads look better SFO-ICN-PVG. I'm not sure if this is still the case, but PVG was at times a "cargo only IN, cargo + pax OUT" destination, as China had prohibited entry from the US. IIRC, the ICN-PVG tag was to have our crews layover in ICN. Good luck!

Yeah it was just for loads. We’ll see what happens!

Nothing on or off. It's a customs thing. It's really a PVG flight with a fuel stop.
