Fascism
If you support intelligent dissent and welcome an examination of your own ideas, and believe the best ideas will probably win out, you are someone who could loosely be defined as “democratic.”
If you feel compelled to insult people who question your assumptions, create multiple accounts to ensure your opinions echo loudest in the room in an attempt to discourage other points of view, you would fit the definition of a fascist quite well. I understand there are some strong opinions on section 1, section 3 and PIs staying UAL pilots, but trying to sink this through attempting to discourage others from speaking up if they disagree with you doesn’t make your opinions seem more valid. Again, I get the temptation to “fight the good fight,” but civility is more important than we understand. Let your cogent points speak for themselves |
To add, nothing in the TA warrants the tactics being used to discourage a YES vote. I am surprised and dismayed that scope was changed one iota and with the major contractual improvements for our PIs, I can’t understand why the union agreed to consider non UAL pilots for those jobs. The section 3 rates are probably the most offensive to so many vocal NO voters, but as the boards showed in the days leading up to the TAs release, few admitted to this being a large factor.
Bottom line, if you think that winning this fight is more important than the way in which we conduct ourselves and treat our fellow pilots, I’d encourage you to read some writings by Machiavelli. The prince is a great book and quite relevant in today’s environment. If you think acting with dignity and honor is as important as the outcome itself, I think a different genre of book is in order, a few of the great titles include Siddartha, Confucius or perhaps the New Testament (about a dude who believed that doing the right thing in the moment was worth being wrongfully killed for). I’m saddened to see what our cable news culture is doing to our discourse within our profession. The best remedy for bad ideas is dispassionate conversation, not funny snark or tribal condemnation. Is this the world we want our kids to inherit? Is this how we hope they treat others and are treated in return? |

Well good sir, what part of “everyone is livid at being betrayed by our union and voting NO” don’t you understand? In the meantime, would you please pass the Grey Poupon?

Well, that didn’t take long to hit Godwin’s law

I’m thoroughly impressed with this pilot group! This is the closet to unity I have seen since before Todd took over and started dividing us with carve outs to get to 51% with whatever he wanted. Finally we are acting like a union with all one voice. NO |

Either way, the OP reminds me of the flight office missives thanking pilots for their continued professionalism. Labor relations truly is not for the faint of heart. |

Dude, just go away. You’ve posted your drivel in numerous areas. You are a lackey.
Why are you so aggressive? Do you really think strength is more important than kindness? I think there are far more reasons to vote NO than YES, it that should make the conversation more civil, not less |

No thanks troll. The pilots here are intelligent enough to see through this post and this TA.
