No Confidence Resolution - C12

Below is a resolution we floored at the C-12 meeting on June 28th. Feel free to copy it for your council meetings:

WHEREAS the Negotiating Committee (along with the Master Chairman) brought a substandard Tentative Agreement to the MEC;

WHEREAS a majority of the MEC voted in favor of this substandard Tentative Agreement (TA);

WHEREAS the TA appears to dismantle our work rules piece by piece, no snap back/me too clause, a few months of retro pay, and pay raises that affect one specific group over the rest of the pilots;

WHEREAS it appears the negotiating team involved have no idea and appear out of touch of daily life both on reserve and line flying;

BE IT RESOLVED the pilots of Council 12 have no confidence in the MEC Negotiating Committee and all members involved with negotiating this substandard TA;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the pilots of Council 12 have no confidence in the Master Chairman;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the pilots of Council 12 direct their Local Officers to support a resolution for the no confidence of the Negotiating Committee and all members involved with negotiating this substandard TA including the Master Chairman at the next MEC meeting.

Just curious what the resolution accomplishes, honest question. I agree with the sentiment, just don’t understand the significance.

Reject and recall.

Reject and Recall: This is our only choice!

Is that an actual thing? It's not written by anyone at ALPA for sure, that would never pass muster.

if the names attached to it are accurate then one of them is a former C12 chair/vice chair and various other ALPA volunteer positions. He knows the process.

It's just that the language is more forum diatribe than actual ALPA resolution jargon.

if a local council passes a resolution like this, then it gets brought to the MEC where it can have various outcomes ranging from being tabled to being successful in what it seeks.

but it has to start at the local level.

I've flown with Briggs. He is one of the dumber humans on the planet.

Right. What does it seek?
