All it will do is make your VEBA bigger.
Higher pay will do nothing for your pre tax retirement. I still dump some post tax money into investment accounts, and would put more in with a higher hourly rate. And that money can’t be taken away from me in bankruptcy, I’m free to invest it in whatever individual stocks I want, and I don’t have to use it for health related stuff in retirement. Frankly I’m fine with the company maxing out my 401k every year and that’s it. I’d rather take the spillover in cash and invest it myself.

I'm no tax expert, but look at Market based cash balance plan. It's a the way to catch the spillover from excess company 401 and it does all that (pre tax, not for health, can't be taken in BK, invest wherever you want after 59.5 years old etc...). With higher pay rates, more pilots will spill quicker, so we will need it even more. YMMV

Default Age 67 is going to happen. Period

Stop all the nonsense talk. IATA is pressuring ICAO as we speak to adopt 67. There goes ALPAs BS talking point. On top of that the majority of pilots want beaurcrats out of our profession. Only ALPA that is nothing more than a lobby group now ( hardly a union given the last TA) is opposed to 67. They don't even have the guts to conduct a 67 poll with their own membership. Dems will be blamed for every late and canceled flight if they don't get on board . Not smart politically and that's all they look at. Mayor Pete is starting to come around given the " brittle" comment. Next thing after brittle is broken. He doesn't want this on his watch if running for POTUS. 67 within next 6 months will happen if not sooner.

If it happens, it happens. You’re investing way too much time on this on an Internet forum.

Funny how pilots are willing to ignore the added 24 months of LTD should you lose your medical. Short sighted , prob the same crowd that likes the TA. Give my greedy ass some $$$ now. Pilots are morons when it comes to basic finance.

Weird they are doing all that in secret. In the past they have been very open about age changes including their 2019 age study. Can you provide even a single source for your statement or should I say creation?

Only one problem. We don't have a MBCBP. A so called promise to discuss isn't worth sh*t. I find it ironic that ALPA is petitioning for buyback restriction talking about pilots first after they try to ram a concessionary TA down our throats. A little late for that isn't it?

New laws protecting pensions in case of BK since 2005. Company contributions would be frozen and distributed. The 401k is fine but no reason to not have more company $$$ going toward a retirement plan. Annuities would be 100% in your name and protected from BK. Not talking about giving up anything already in place just adding another bucket of cash. Who's not for that?
