Good. Let this illustrate the importance of reserve rules and reserve coverage requirements.

The time for work rules is now. Pay rates come and go, but they're arguably the easiest chess piece to maneuver in the future due to inflation and matching whatever the other legacies do. The work rules that are established now, or re-established now, those are what the pilot group will have for the next several decades since we're unlikely to ever see our current leverage again.

I do not believe that this is a “Status quo” violation because the Company has the right to slide things to protect the operation. Especially now with so much attention toward the integrity of each Airlines’ operation and the significant amount of cancellations that have occurred. The Company would argue that this is necessary to uphold the integrity of the operation.

What makes you think a record number of pilots are on reserve? I’d agree that 2 years ago a record number of pilots were on reserve, but now?

Kiss that premium goodbye unless you’re supah seenyah. If only we had a decent pay rate and QOL work rules or a cush 94.5 gig like a contract interpreter.

What was MPG under C2000? 81 hrs? This new TA needs to recover what was lost. To quote Whack- if not now, when?

I wanna say I remember seeing "81-83 variable" or some such other.

RE: recovering what was lost, run the COL/inflation numbers on C2000. I seem to have lost the copy I had, but pulling from an older post;

UAL C2000 777 CA, 297.20. Put that into the calculator for 2022, $511

UAL C2000 756 CA, 242.55. 2022 = $416
UAL C200 756 FO, 165.66. 2022 = $283

Airbus CA 2000, 232.59. 2022 = $399
Airbus FO 2000, 158.86 2022 = $271

Pilots over the last year are hooked on PP trips being plentiful… like on crack. Just prior to Covid it was rare for an FO to get PP unless around a holiday or a very late Sick Call inside the 14 hour callout without SC coverage being available. Now we are seeing multiple PP trips available (some 2 days early) in both seats and everyone is waiting until it hits 100%. Once the Fall schedule hits and OE backlog gets resolved these cherry PP opportunities are going to dry up big time.

I think the company can afford those numbers. Of course, you can't recover everything when taking into acct ESOP/A fund. But I think we should be asking for the hourly and work rules back, plus 10% of course, since recovering C2000 would only mean you guys haven't gotten a raise in 22 years which would be insane for ANY profession like ours

Sucks. Seems it's simply the lesson management has learned over time. It's simply less expensive to run slightly understaffed (for whatever reason) vs. "properly staffed".

Agreed. Of course, the counter was that "C2000 was just an unsustainable CBA"

the message the company sent out about keeping reserve levels higher than normal is what everyone’s referring to, I’m sure. Is it a “record” number? I don’t know. But it’s artificially high to get rid of premium trips and the cost associated with them. Their words.
