BOS commute new hire

Hi everyone,

I'm still waiting for a classdate, but trying to start think about which base/equip I should go for. I just recently just moved to BOS for my current employer and really like it out here. I plan to stay until my lease is over and head back to the west coast eventually. I'll be fairly junior in my class (late 20's) and will be picking up the remaining options. I'm hoping EWR 75/76, but if that option isn't available how would you bid in my shoes based on previous bids. NB would be ideal for the quicker line. I'm assuming its gonna be 75/76, 777, or 787 will be remaining if they are in the bid.

Excited to start.

Thanks

If your ultimate goal is west coast, then it really doesn't matter what equipment you get. You will have the option within a year to bid to the west coast when your lease is up barring another black swan event in that equipment. You'll be much happier commuting though, if you have the option of selecting a NB. Also, from a NB, you will be able to bid anything (other than the other NB) on the west coast. Even EWR 756 is over a year on reserve.

Can anyone drop how junior ORD A320 FO and CA went on the latest vacancy?

Thanks!

CA roughly 6-7 years on property. FO all the way to new hire w/ 58 unfilled vacancies.

Would anyone mind posting how junior the 756 went in ORD on the last vacancy? I'd be especially appreciative if anyone has any insight as to QOL on that fleet. I live in base and want the 320, but failing that thinking maybe of keeping 756 as second preference followed by 737.

Can someone hold EWR 787 or 777 as a new hire? And how long would they sit on reserve? And I’ll assume that upgrading to CA would take a long time

A few slots for 787 EWR in the NH classes lately. Probably would be on reserve for 1.5 years as the most junior LH is a is roughly 2500 numbers from the bottom systemwide.

How about the 777?
Asking for a friend, he starting to apply for legacies and he lives in PHL so he best base would be EWR and he want to fly wide body.
Thank you!
