To me, todays email seemed pretty good. They moved in our direction. Which is good.
The shareholders would HATE if Kirby just rolled over and didn’t fight. He’s gotta put on a show. At least until Delta votes |

Latest email isn’t exactly great news on the negotiation front.
“Industry leading”….you keep using that word(s)…I don’t think they mean what you think they mean. |

I wonder the same thing BUT what is the incentive to the company? When we say they will earn the good will of the pilots does that really translate to anything tangible for them? It’s not like we can strike or have any kind of work action. If we do stop picking up open time then they take us to court. Our hands are tied.
I would like to think our “good will” is worth something but I just don’t see it. What am I missing (I hope I’m missing something)? Thats exactly what happened at Frontier in late 2018, and absolutely nothing happened to any individual or their union. Spirit only got in hot water over that because there were guys publicly threatening others in a guised manner to not pick anything up via social media. Big difference. |

No, that is NOT true. As long as its a PERSONAL DECISION to not to pick up OT, it's absolutely legal.

We’ll know soon enough if Kirby was serious about a quick deal, or only serious if it’s cheap.
Next, the CEO runs to the board and tells them how awesome he/she is because, "even though our costs have increased somewhat with the new contract(s), the <insert labor group here> realized that our plan ensures that we'll be better positioned to compete and expand our market share moving forward, thereby ensuring our continued profitability while providing sustainable* futures for our co-workers." (Translation: "we're paying less than Delta for more productivity.") Honestly, I forget how many contracts we've had since I've been here, but they all track the same as I've outlined above. This will be my last one and I would seriously love it if, just this one time, I would be proved wrong. *This word must be included in all press releases and public remarks. |
