I agree with your sentiment but I think it's important to listen to hear what "they" are saying. Know the source and the motivation but take with a grain of salt. Bounce what you hear off your reps.

"Contract is coming but we still need to be able to operate and be competitive"

What this means is that because we don't have cheap a base like the Atlanta cash machine - management expects the pilots to make the sacrifice and not be on par with our competitor with respect to contract costs.

Mgmt definition of industry leading =

- match DL pay rates to the penny
- sub par management friendly work rules

We do! Its centrally located too. IAH. We just choose not to operate it as ATL. You can’t even fly to CDG on UA from there. First, figure out how to double the WB gates there. Baggage system modernization will soon help things too.

I heard you don’t want to eat at Panda Express in IAH terminal E… rats rats rats. That was probably the only useful info discussed at a CP directed townhall.

What it really means is

Due to management incompetence, we can't make the profits like Delta so we need you to take one for the team.

IAH will never be able to match ATL pound for pound. It’s too far south for sufficient domestic connection traffic flow……
