Thoughts on new vacancy? All captain slots…of course this will generate FO slots but still

I think we have the first of many fishing expeditions from crew planning. We have the TA language so let's see if it worked? Management doesn't understand why they can't fill captain slots. They keep building higher line divisor lines, treating captain reserves like garbage, restricting reserves ability to swap days around holidays arbitrarily, and playing games with the pool display... but they will keep making it worse and worse and wondering why no one wants it. The implementation timeline is about a year away.

I find it curious that there are very little Airbus positions being advertised. If all these A321 NEOs are coming, why no vacancies?? Are we parking a bunch of older ones in the process?? And if you ask anyone in the Airbus fleet management, it’s basically silencio, other than yeah they’re coming! 🤔

the first 321 bookable flight is in the United reservation system for next summer ORD-FLL I believe in July. So I guess it will be a bit longer? Who knows?

They’re shooting for the first NEO to be in service for thanksgiving weekend.

Not growing the category much because we’re retiring older 319’s/320’s and I don’t think the total number of Airbii will grow until later in 2024. I believe we’re retiring them just about as quickly as we’re getting new ones for the near future.

I think for 2023 there will actually be a net loss of airframes

That wouldn’t surprise me.

with the first few 321’s being delivered this fall, no way it will take 6 months+ to make its debut.

maybe a month or two after delivery so sometime around the end of 23/early 24

also did anyone catch the latest flight op update? They talk about the 321 and it says we have 89 Neo’s on order and 50 XLR’s. Everything in public says we have 70 Neo’s on order. Hmmmm

It's good we have lazy pilots with awful taste, otherwise the rest of us would have to share the dogsh1t overnights and pairings with the airbus weirdos.

Honest question, why would they care if people want to bid NBCA slots? Very soon it won’t matter.

Imagine making your airframe choice such an integral part of your life and then calling the Airbus pilots the weirdos.

The cabin heat and starting the APU 10 minutes prior to push is cooking his brain.

SIGH. It’s ditch diggers, but I would expect an airline pilot to get that wrong…

They are no longer referred to as garbage men but as garbage people or garbage persons. Most have degrees in the Custodial Arts.
