So, having said all that, would you say it is better to start off NB in SFO, then bid up 787 elsewhere (ORD/DCA) whenever your seniority creeps up?
Not a big fan of flying at night anymore to be honest, hence the reason I decided to try the majors, not either of the cargo boys.

The category is not what it used to be. Years ago, when I was a copilot on it there, I did gentlemanly 2-day BOS on the Pratts and went to Maui every month.. those days are over. When the categories in LAX and SFO started to crumble, we got a lot of PDRs and complaints, but such is life.
Just understand what they categories look like today and the amount of awful domestic flying you will do. Just my .02 |

is UA planning to keep the 757/767 fleet around for awhile or are there plans to phase it out?
is bidding it when living in the east a feasible option? What is upgrade time currently on that airframe? |

Stated 2030 or so. Could slide forward or back depending on NEO/XLR/MAX/787 deliveries and the economy.

It is absolutely amazing to me that Boeing can’t pull their head out of their butt and build an upgraded version of the 757. Meanwhile Airbus can’t build 321’s fast enough.
Boeing missed the boat back in 2014….. |
