Am I competitive ?

2,000ish TT
1,300 multi
560 heavy turbo jet SIC 121
50 turbo prop PIC
700 HP twin prop PIC 135
4 year finance degree
4th pilot job
3 type ratings
2 busts
CFII

I also want to add that my dad has been w United for 35 years. He is a bit out of touch with hiring but claims that I'm "guaranteed an interview". I haven't submitted an App yet because I feel barely qualified. Do I seem competitive? I don't want to "burn" my interview by showing up under qualified. How much weight does being a family legacy carry? I also suck at interviewing so I definitely plan to get a prep course.

Submit the app and find out.

I'd say you have a 50/50 shot under Kirby's DEI hiring plan.

No reason not to ever apply.

But always get an interview prep.

If the family auto interview theory is true then applying with bare ATP mins would be a good reason not too.

Got a pulse?? Qualified!!

I will never understand people asking this question. fill out the app and find out.

As long as the busts weren't too recent, I don't know why you wouldn't be competitive. No downside to putting in your (professionally reviewed) app now.
If you make it to the interview, the job is yours to lose.

I know people hired at United with less impressive resumes. Apply now before the hiring environment changes...

I don't know of any "auto-interview" for any reason at UAL.

If you get an interview they want to hire you if it goes well. As you hem and haw you are losing seniority weekly !
