Other airlines NEOs have them without issue.

For what it’s worth they can install the ACTs during a long overnight. NEOs have the panel for them and the fuel lines are already installed. No sense in dragging empty tanks around while the 75’s are still on property. No idea if that’s the plan or not but the added range is essentially a hand wave away.

agree it can be done but with 200 PAX how much extra fuel could they carry and not leave payload behind?

Delta does 194 with the ACTs installed.

We’ll see. I suspect if the economy is gangbusters we’ll see the Neo getting used for shorter domestic high capacity routes and the 756 continuing to do 756 stuff, if **** hits the fan I could see them retiring them and making due with adding ACT’s and blocking a few seats if needed.

RE the XLR I’m guessing the delay is due to them getting the range back up with the fuel tank redesign. Initially reported they’d lose about 200nm with the rework but Airbus is claiming that’s not the case now.

I beleive Airbus recently came out with a statement about the triaining diffrences going from a 319/320/321 to the 330/350 which was less than a week if memory serves me. If the upa and traning dept allow it, it would eliminate much of the traning costs for adding a new type.

not really because we are still 80% Boeing. Most of the pilots going to the 330/350 would not be Airbus pilots. Not to mention is the planes were put on lucrative or desirable routes then it would be 787/777 and 756 bidders as the senior pilots.

What I meant to say is that I read somewhere that the "mask" is required on the XLR, but optional on the NEO. Our NEOs don't have the mask, but I believe the XLR will because it's some sort of certification issue.

yes it 100% will….once it is certified and on property…….neither of which will happen before 2026.

And YES you do need the XLR to do what the NEO CANT do because the NEO doesn’t have enough gas and isn’t ETOPS….yet.

The NEO most certainly is ETOPS capable. Our latest delivery went EDI-BGR using 120min ETOPS.

of course it is ETOPS capable but United is not approved to fly it ETOPS yet. It’s in the Placards if you don’t believe me.

under part 121 correct. They will get that in due time. But the deliveries are operated part 91 and it flew 120 etops across the atlantic a few weeks ago.
