Tough choice. Have a relatively normal day where most pilots flew a pretty normal schedule, OR have countless delays, cancellations, reroutes, extended duty periods, loss of massive profit sharing, and the stress and black eye of a week long meltdown and have 2 free PS passes…

I’d take the functioning airline and extra profit sharing!

Among other instances, yes.

you must have not worked the meltdown at all, and the gate agents definitely deserve something unable to rebook unable to book hotels unable to give out vouchers and handle all the people sleeping in the jet bridges and the airport. I know a lot of pilots I had excessive delays cancellations reroute, diversion, and schedule changes for a three day period. Hadpilot sleeping in airplane bunks because they were unable to book hotels.

Reading the contract is hard.

Yep - that’s why nobody does it anymore! We can’t even be bothered with reading the emails the Union sends out…

imagine a world where reading, at most, an email a day from your union is too arduous while working half the month and making 200k+….gmafb…

DL pilots were making bank with premium pay and reroutes.. rerouted premium trips. Same with extended duty period. It wasn’t nearly as bad for the pilots as it was for the FA’s doing the same crap

If you’re sleeping on the bunk/airport as a pilot in duty… that’s your fault.

All that is true, but it still sucks to get jerked around the system for 2 days, serve as a verbal punching bag for the passengers, and missing out on events at home all because our air line has refused to invest in automation that could have prevented our phone system from shutting down.

Call me crazy, but I am happy with my base pay and would like to maximize my days off. Working more isn't really worth the extra money to me.
