Explain vacation drops, please

If I have a 3 day 20 hour trip and I use a Vacaton drop, do I get paid 20 hours? Or do I just lose 3 days of vacation and get paid what those 3 days are worth? How about a 4 day 20 hour trip?

When is it worth using a vaation drop?

TIA

so it’s not day for day. If it’s a 20 hrs trip (doesn’t matter if it’s 3 days or 4 days) it will use 20 hrs worth of vacation time or 4.7 days worth of vacation.

Also vacation drops do not come from the current year’s vacation. They come from the following year and from DEC-APR, they actually from the year after next. So a vacation drop now would come out of may26-Apr27 vacation year.

No. The company knows better than to pick that fight.

Premerger LUAL contract if you dropped a 3 day trip you got the full pay for the trip and it only cost you 3 days of vacation. our vacation system is a complete ripoff today.

What are Delta and American’s vacation system rules? That would be a better comparison vs a contract from 15 years ago.

That sick leave could turn into a WOP drop with ADHOC. ;)
