Pilot Hiring Steps

Hi everyone, I just received an invitation for the Leadership Inventory Assessment as the first step in the hiring process. Does anyone know what the next steps are after the Leadership Assessment?? The complete process

Hi guys

I am in a similar situation. Been applying for 2 years and just got the email from united for the Leadership inventory assessment.

I want to ask for some advice regarding postponing this. How can I turn it down at this stage politely. I need to stick around at my current airline for a year due to personal circumstances.

Thanks

Take this with a grain of salt, but I wouldn’t postpone it. There are too many applicants in the pool and they could just drop you and never give you another chance. I would do the assessment, get the CJO and then tell them that you can’t start class until whatever date you see fit.

How soon can you start class is a question towards the end of the in-person interview so just be open and honest about it

I don’t think the dropping and not having another chance is likely. From what I heard if you miss the assessment, the app just goes inactive till you update it and be put back in the pool again

id go through the process, have an offer you can postpone , don’t worry about it till you do. I’d also think about what your personal stuff is, for instance, a baby you will get leave her easily for that and you’d be on the list even if you’ve been here less than a year.

As others have said, I would find any way to continue the process. Who knows, by the time you get through the steps and sit in the pool waiting for a class date, you could have the time you need🤷‍♂️. Either way, I’d rather have a fairly sure thing with my foot in the door (class date) and try to delay that, than trying to delay the hogan. I feel like you’d be far less likely to get lost in the shuffle that way.

You’ve been trying for two years and are getting close. Try everything in your power to not let the opportunity pass you by.

Oof.

Highly recommend you don’t make that choice, unless you’re at Delta or UPS or even AA or Alaska and can just stick it out there long term.

You should be able to email the pilot hiring team and request to withdraw your application from consideration for hiring if you decide that is the best for your future.

Do everything you can to find a way around those personal circumstances.

In that same vein of postponement, I was offered an interview in the summer of 2023. Ended up cancelling it due to life and things going on. I’ve kept the app updated and would like another chance if possible. Do I keep updating that app or start a new one with a different email to get noticed?
