FAs have a TA

United and the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA announced a new tentative agreement that, if ratified, will provide industry-leading wages, better scheduling and other improvements for our 30,000 flight attendants.

Hopefully the details are good!

I’m happy for our FA’s that they got the contract they deserve.

While I’m very happy for them, I do recognize this will have an impact on United earnings and profit sharing. Does anyone know what the reported FA contract value is?

I’m pretty sure the 2026 profit sharing ship has sailed.

This landing two weeks after a war started implies the company views it as a reasonable deal

I hope it’s enough to make you unhappy.

I think an argument could be made that the primary customer facing work group feeling valued with a good contract will have a net benefit in the long run despite a short term hit to profitability. The counter would probably be that in-flight management already runs a pretty tight ship and they don’t put up with a lot of bad attitudes.

United took a $561 million charge for the initial ratification costs back in 2025 and have said costs of the new FA deal were already factored into the company's 2026 earnings per share (EPS) guidance.

If the pro-forma the company said they had allocated both expected future cash on hand and net profits to include what they believed would be the cost of the FA contract. So not sure it will hit profits substantially, if any.

Yea, my WAG was about $1 Billion a year in extra cost for United, plus whatever ratification bonus (that they mostly took a charge for already).
