I'm not quite sure where you got the "I've got mine/screw you mentality that is so evident at CAL" notion from. Yes, their are a FEW that think that way (they're at EVERY airline), but they are thinning out, thank God. As we are a younger pilot force, the true mentality is.................let's get what we deserve and MORE.
$30K (I think it is now slightly more now - woopdeeedo) for new hires, Loss of crew meals - But the majority of the senior folks didn't lose that did they?, Freezing the A fund - again the junior people took it in the shorts on this, 50% deadhead pay at the time - but the senior folks don't really deadhead do they?, Crew rest seats - Ditto. The list could go on but the point is that this contract reeks of cronyism brought to us (in bullet point fashion - cause they know it would never have passed otherwise) by none other than CALALPA and if you dig a little deeper - the committee chairmen which coincidentally the vast majority happen to be in that special club. To me this merger is the greatest thing that could have ever happened. I'm soooo looking forward to flying with my new found brothers and sisters. Let the flushing begin!! |
