No, actually the shareholders are the ones who matter, but you're right, Smisek and the BOD were dying for this to happen and the hell with what the employees wanted. I highly doubt that my meager input would have had much impact. :(

Yes, the shareholders do have a vote, but the mega-shareholders drive the fight. I'm sure each BOD had already done the math to make sure it would be approved. I voted no for my shares to no effect.
