Fuel Prices going up!
 

Can only hope the Middle East crisis settles down.:confused: It might be time to raise ticket prices.

How can you give a flying flip what fuel and ticket prices do? My job is to fly the aircraft from A to B. It's smilton's job to worry about how much fuel costs and what passengers are paying for their seat/ticket. The cost of a pilot is the cost of a pilot. FUPM!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't mean to sound Trite but WHO is "SMILTON"?? Is that going to be a generic term for Senior managment, Jeff Smisek, Glenn Tilton and/or Pete McDonald??? or all in combination?? And after Glenn leaves will it then become "JeffyMac"?? or "McJeff" ??. just sayin'.. How About "McSmilton"?? That covers it all.

I think what he was trying to say is FUPM.

Pard, I think yer confused. The cost of a TICKET reflects a profit or no profit. If operating costs are where the profit is found then all you need to do is work for less (and less, and less...) and you'll be safe and secure. [BARF]

I wrote an email to Tilton when oil went to $36 a barrel, asking why we aren't hedging with every dollar we could borrow. His (or his secretary's) reply? I don't understand hedging.. that the futures were well above $36.

I looked them up... they were at $40-$49 depending on the length.

I told this story to someone else that said we didn't have any money to hedge. I pointed out that we didn't have any money to hedge when oil was at $135 either, but somehow we managed to do it.

Now I'm probably the dumbest person on the planet when it comes to financing. But my 2 year old nieces could have figured this out.

Way to go, Glenn. Weren't you an oil guy?

Never thought of him as an oil guy, just an ax man, can do what he does in any business.
