CAL 757/767 Question
 

Hi Guys,

Does CAL qualify each and every 757 guy to fly 764 routes?

Are some guys segmented to domestic flying?

Everybody flys everything everywhere. Some places better than others if you look at our Altitude bust reports from the North Atlantic. It's almost as bad as United's.

What does one have to do wih the other?

It doesn't.

The 757/767 are combined fleets at CAL. Every pilot is qualified to fly both anywhere in the system. The same thing goes with our 737s. We don't divide the fleet into a sub-fleet of NGs and classics as some airlines used to do.

Yea, its great training here. I trained in a 767-300 sim, did IOE to Florida and back in a 757-200, and crossed the Atlantic my first time as a line holder after IOE. Only the most senior pilots fly the 767, due to the pay. I hadn't flown it since IOE and did a trip to HNL over a year later. The CA hadn't flown it since IOE either. That was fun! We kept looking for N3 to start the engine. :)

He's just upset, we (CAL) had one thing we were #1 at, and UAL took it away.;)
