Got a note from ALPA of a job offer at Republic. F/O at $31/ hr.

One day I'm a United F/O based in LAX. Then I'm on the street looking at express jets at my old Shuttle gates.

I get a recall but furloughed again to "right-size".

Now I look at my old job coming back to CAL recalls only. Based in LAX?

But I got a job offer. Who am I to thank for my good fortune?

Just an 11 year roller coaster ride.

Are any UAL fuloughees actually going back to these RJ jobs?

Understand all of your frustration, but I can guarantee you no CAL Recall is going to hold LAX. Wouldn't look to them as taking your old job. Sismek is going to do whatever he can to right size a market. Except a fair amount of UAL widebodies to get redeployed to CAL long hauls in the months ahead.

As much as I want to go back to work flying I just can't seem to bring myself to work for one of our regional partners(?).

I also find it ridiculous that I should be willing to outsource my own job to myself.

I dunno but I hope the entire class is filled with fuloughees that want the currency for employment purposes. Let The Reverend pay for everybody's training and then move on. I'll shed crocodile tears for Republic when nobody sticks around at those pay rates and work rules.

I know the feeling, I think the MEC is trying their best to get our jobs back and a great contract for anyone, but they are not having much luck.
A few more years for many of us will mean about 15 years with UAL and 12 years on furlough.
We did not get furloughed , we got "RIGHT SIZED" for the merger of the century.

I hope you are right. I can see it, like you said, for currency purposes but personally I couldn't afford that pay scale. Still waiting for the recall.:(
