Just flew with someone who showed me his Facebook page. He is still actively working according to his own comments. He even makes some reference to the incident. His page has some picture referring to poker.

Sickening incident if true. CSR violating company policy, DEN police officer threatening a pilot with arrest for if he does not fly the flight? Wonder if the FAA will have a conversation with said police officer. Doubtful.

However I do find it odd that this story appeared on multiple websites on April 1st, even though the incident happened back in December. Either a really bad April fools joke, or the people who finally decided to share the story picked a bad day to do so.

That is the key issue in this instance, is it true? This may be a version of events but I highly suspect that this is not the entire story. The pilot involved in this event was the key individual behind the UPA (United Pilots Association) that was being crafted a few years ago to oust ALPA. From talking to many pilots that know him he is a hot head with a history of dust ups with other employees and company. A bit of the Napoleon complex on top of his already, "shoot first ask questions later" method of handling issues.

He was also a member of the UA ALPA Grievance Cmmte. when this took place. ALPA puts a guy on a cmmte that was in charge of a group that tried to replace ALPA?

Perhaps the Captain was aggressive/rude, I don't know, BUT..j/s bags belong in the cockpit or cabin, not checked. A CSR with his seniority knows that. Sounds like Mr. B is the one with an inferiority complex. Probably detests the fact that a pilot can still get a ride on a full airplane, while he is left at the gate. TOO BAD. BTW, I have had a few run ins with DEN CSRs. Most are great. Some are terrible.

Hopefully, our combined policy will be this then. At CAL, you hope to get it on the airplane in the cabin, otherwise it goes in the bin and your lucky not to do the baggage claim run on the other end.

Hey lambourne,

I find your post repulsive. I've flown with the Capt Rood and found him to be professional and respectful.

To sit here and publicly slam one of your fellow pilots shows your true colors. Forget his politics and whether or not some fo got his panties in a wad flying with him. The true issue is captains authority and after the lawsuit there is a serious attack against it. I know captains who never have refused a plane due to fear from having to explain him/herself. They are cowards and that what is wanted by management.

Leave the politics out lambourne , grow a pair, and open your eyes.

You mean the kind of shoot first and ask questions later method you've just used by believing the character of a man you've never met from second hand stories?

My bet here is that you're not a real pilot, but some cubicle resident who wanted to be one. Since you failed at that, you grab every opportunity to believe the worst of a real pilot you've never met.

Go back to your cubicle. APC is for active airline pilots only.

Getting rid of ALPA and having our own representation who only represents us is for another thread. Some people get so offended by any criticism of the Almighty ALPA it's as if you have insulted Islam to some.

Keep an eye out for this guy in Denver.
