Guam after the merge...?
What will happen to the GUM base?
I know 777 are coming and there are rumors of 73 doing some flights out of NRT.
How about the overall base size? Will it grow, shrink or stay the same?

Well, it's already grown by an additional 15 pilots since the Feb 2010 bid prior to the merger (which is huge for such a small base), which equates to about 10-12% growth.
I'm sure that's subject to change due to reduced demand based on the Japan disaster.
As for FA's they will be screwed when the UA 777 flying takes over their CMI 767 flying this fall.

Please don't broach this subject in the presence of the 'fine' Congressmen, Hank Johnson, from Georgia. How the hell the Navy Brass kept a straight face during this discussion, I will never know!
I'm sorry....this never gets old.

As far as the GUM shrinking, I hope not.

Heard rumblings that company's proposed trips for inter Asia flying are long and unproductive (think 7-8 days). Union not happy and company apparently throwing its hands up in typical fashion. Not good for a base with the quality of flying GUM is used to. That Contract '02 work rule gift never stops giving. If anybody knows further or otherwise please refute what I heard.
