Airplane coffee

I know there are a lot more important things to talk about so this thread is meant as a little bit of humor. UniCAL put out a press release today talking about the aligning of customer service initiatives and products.

United and Continental Take More Steps to Create a Consistent Customer Travel Experience - Yahoo! Finance

One thing that caught my eye was this:

...By late summer, both airlines will be serving the same coffee – a flavorful new custom blend – and...
I just knew this was coming after the merger announcement. PMUA serves Starbucks coffee, correct? Now I suspect that Starbucks is not creating a "flavorful new custom blend" for the combined company. So my guess is $mi$ek sees this as an extravagance to be eliminated. Very similar to when CAL got rid of Timothy's coffee in favor of the current "custom blend" coffee that was named in an employee contest (i.e. Coast-to-Coast Roast or Coast-to-Coach Joke as I prefer to call it).

Again, we have bigger concerns, but we are talking coffee here. Changing it is almost as bad as having to go with the coffee makers on MEL. It's an essential item at times!

Anyone want to comment on what the new coffee will be called? Sarcastic comments, of course, are always appreciated and welcome. :D

Starbucks coffee sucks. Of course bad SB is still better than the Coast to Crap we serve.

United: Merger progress, but a long way to go

....The airline has repainted 522 planes in the new livery, or about 40 percent of the fleet....

This line caught my eye. I didn't realize the combined company had over 1300 aircraft in the fleet!

Perfect! And, expect a new executive VP announced in charge of the coffee bean counting division! Lower level position so pay will only be 1 million.

PilotGolfer, didn't you go to EZ while on furlough? Are you still there or leave in anticipatioin of recall at UCAL? BTW, the Tristar must have been a comfy ride at ATA. All the best.

Now I feel old. I was there 1994-1997. I never got to fly the Tristar but everyone I talked to loved it.

United is going thru a full blown merger, and this is the top news coming out of the worlds largest airline.

Amazing.

I used to throw in a paper clip, if it floats, I'm good to go. Of course, paper clips are going the way of the buggy whip and phone booth. :)

Amazing.

Thats what Stockholm Syndrome is all about.

Its all a secret. Even our position, the proverbial line in the sand, is so secret, we don't even know what it is.
