reserve coverage

reserve coverage has been negative all weekend. Monday all bases in the negative. Already have been contacted about moving immovable days off. DANGER, DANGER meltdown is approaching.

There are plenty of pilots willing to pick up open time for 100% or 150% pay. Don't worry, they will save the airline.

One of my favorite 300 Capts in DCA would not allow the VJM horrors to fly any legs. The one gal that was trying to pad her checkbook while we were getting furloughed was literally sitting in the runup pad at IAD crying because the Capt wouldn't let her have a leg. The Capt got a call from the CP saying please don't do that again. Please don't do what?...make her cry or make her be the NFP all the time?

Nice to hear some are looking out for us. In whatever little way they can. Definitely a technique I'm going to add to my future bag o tricks.

When I was hired at UAL, I asked how JM worked, ie can it be denied, etc. I was told by my Captain "Here is how it works, you do NOT accept it, period, if you do, and the Captain finds out, you will not touch controls for the whole trip, and he probably won't talk to you either. It is a fast way to get on the 'bad' side"

But then I was furloughed 3 months later.

Yeah, and during the UAL BK, the company used SWA numbers for some of their comparisons/metrics on how overpaid/inefficient UAL pilots were............my answer was bring on the SWA contract with payrates adjusted for the larger aircraft and match it every time they get a new contract.......where would UAL pilots be now? No, we had to save the A plan...................

Whiteferg didn't listen to the voice of reason from his disposed advisers.
