At UA, we furloughees can see PBS awards, but not the actual schedules as they are endured. Unless I've miss something.

Let's see... we're getting twice furloughed UA pilots coming into the CAL reserve system, and likely commuting to it.

Sounds like we've got some serious "No" voting, P.O.'d, FUPM, people coming on board.

No doubt. They've created 1200-2000 angry (rightly so) no voters that will hold those ahead of them to task. About time, IMHO. This has been one sh!tty decade. If they think we're settling for less than industry leading compensation and scope than they need to lay off the crack. Not going to happen, IMHO, and I'm roughly halfway up the UAL list.

A quick description: CLE based reserve 737 FO
I traded a few immovable days to get my daughters birthday weekend off (which was pointless as those days were rolled anyway). Consequently those traded days became movable as per the elephant-sh!t contract we have. So far this month I have had a total of 6 days off rolled. This week is my 5th consecutive work block where my days have been rolled. One work block was originally scheduled as 4 days and was rolled to 7 days thanks to 24 hours in Puerto Rico. This block of days included a fatigue call out of base because scheduling caught me upon arriving from SJU- Instead of a DH home as planned, they rolled my days off and put me on day rest so I was legal to fly a BON red eye turn {augmented crew) that night at 2400= fatigued. My month isn't so bad compared to some guys who I've heard have gone as far as 13 in a row.

I need a job, but I REALLY don't want to come to work for that kind of abuse! I will do it so that instead of being on the sidelines and having NO SAY whatsoever, I will have the ability to vote HELL NO! Maybe even get to add STRIKE to my resume, on top of multiple bumps and furloughs. I am getting close to checking off the divorce box at this rate. I really don't give a $h1t anymore. Let me at em.

Fx2..I too did mr. mom..and I truely hope the big D is not an option for you..as much as I hate cal rsv..being on second year pay is about 5500 or so a month...beats unemployment financially, but not on the fun side..I painted a pretty good picture of how much it SUCKS..but on the first and fifteenth it's a little more tolerable..Good luck to you and us all for that matter..scfb

Good for you! That's what we need more of. We pilots are so conditioned to "Get the mission done" no matter the consequence that we continue to fly these ridiculous schedules and try to ignore the fact that we are tired to the point of making the operation unsafe.

We need to learn to say enough is enough. We have been covering our respective companies ridiculous staffing decisions with that attitude for the past decade. I'm not going to pile an airplane into a hill just because this outfit wants to save every last dollar for executive bonuses.

Guys, staffing sucks here right now. I'm no company apologists as anyone can read on here, BUT please remember that this is the worst time of the year we are talking about. Things almost always get better in the fall. I had a buddy on reserve who flew 3 hours one month last fall and ZERO hours in one month last spring. Could be awful if you are commuting but if you live in base it could be OK too. Flying does drop off in the fall from peak so the nightmares don't happen like you hear about now. That same buddy of mine said prior to this summer he had two days rolled off in 3 years. Since the beginning of the summer, he has had something like a dozen days off continually rolled. I'll drop him a line and see if he'll show me his before and after schedule for July.

I can't, of course, guarantee what next summer will hold or if you will still be reserve subject to what we have been talking about. Only you can decide what you want to do based on what situation you might find yourself in come next summer.
