Default LCAL Profit Sharing 2011 Possibility

For all you LCAL guys and gals it looks like you will get a 2011 profit sharing after all. Rumor has it the T&PA will be fully extended into 2012 for a share of the 2011 profits for LCAL pilots. The cost to this is there won't be any ORD or DEN B737 Pilot Bases in 2012. Additionally I suspect there is some recalling possibilities coming on the LUAL side.

Just a rumor, but the MEC is meeting next week to has the T&PA out.

If any of this is true spend your profits wisely.

And please don't give the credit to "The Chairman" or Ms Wendy, your whole MECs (LUAL and LCAL) are responsible for this one. They seem to be working together a bit closer these days.

PS. I love these kind of rumors, hope it's true.

That's obviously pre-tax before the "30-ish%" tax grab right???

Just about every pilot that I have spoken with over the last months was confident they were gonna get paid one way, or the other (If you get my drift). Sounds like the company 'blinked', and didn't want to broach the alternative concerning the pay-out that many of the L-CO Pilot's would have sought to recoup their $$ post Feb 14th, 2012

This payout (or as Jeff would MOST likely say, "good-will') is nothing more than smoke-n-mirrors. It buys Jeff/Fred 'time' in their quest to keep dragging out the JCBA neg process. In the end, doling out L-CO Pilot's Profit Sharing is just 'small pennies' that buy large "Benjamins" for mgt in the long run.

SoCal,

Not disputing the jist of your post, but my p/s check for 2010 was $6400 gross. And I am a lowly F/O. UCH is on track to beat their 2010 profit this year, so I expect the sum to be higher. If they are going to give CAL guys a taste in exchange for extending some of UAL's domicile protections, I am all for it. A JCBA would be better, of course.
I believe, if true, this is a good course of action for the company. If they start opening CAL bases in UAL domiciles before sli integration, it will get UGLY, IMO. Injunction or no, guys will be ****ED.

I agree Sled. UHC is set to make big $$ gains in 2011. My concern is that "some" will be blinded by the "few K's" in payouts that Jeff tosses their way. The company 'maybe' able to be appease some within the masses as the JCBA window drags on. As far as I'm concerned (as well as MANY others at L-CO are concerned), Profit Sharing is non-negotiable.....It's NOTHING that needs to be held over our heads in the fashion that the company has handed down up to this point.

This would ALSO pertain to the L-UAL opening up Pilot Bases in L-CAL bases during this same TPA period.....IE IAH-Airbus.....right???

AGAIN Sled.....As the OP stated, it's all rumor up to this point. You points are well taken.

UAL gets profit sharing by contract in perpetuity, CAL is by "agreement." Last year UAL pilots got 5.9% of W2, CAL got 3.9%. A $6400 check at UAL becomes a $4300 check at CAL. Good on UAL for getting it.

Of Course! and I should have said so. The problem as I see it is not so much the the new bases, but the bump bids that would surely come with them. Can you imagine getting bumped out of base while new guys are coming in??!!! With no ability to bid the new equipment??!! As I understand it, the union has already warned the company of the shenanigans that could go on if they proceed down this path. Meaning, they should not be held responsible.

Maybe I am in the minority but I don't feel we should be working out any agreements unless it is a complete jcba. Sorry cal guys if that is the agreement we should stick with it until we have a complete agreement.

I'll believe it when I hear it from WHQ or whatever it is called now. I guess they are hoping people show up for work this month.
