LUAL 737s

Curiouse...After LUAL decided to park their 737 fleet (49 ships I think), they did not furlough nor did they get any new aircrafts...so what happened to all the 737 pilots?

100 I believe the second time and they did bumps and furloughs (1437).

The UAL 737 fleet numbered 96 airframes at the time of the announcement. There were many bumps and 1400+ furloughs.

96...wow! I was under the impression that the 1400+ furloughs were before the 737 announcement and not as a result...but guess I was wrong.

Nothing like a flamer on the site, another guy waiting to take jobs if you walk out the door.

Yep. 1437 furloughees, exactly. 1437 too many seats at UAL in 2008-2009 because UAL needed to right size for the CAL merger in order to appease the DOJ.

Boy, wasn't that fun. ::still ticked::

United announced that they were retiring the 737 fleet in May/June 2008. They completed retiring all 96 on 28 Oct 2009.
The first pilots furloughed in the last round was on 3 Sep 2008.

Guess when it was announced that Continental would join the Star Alliance? June 2008.

EZBW,

Don't mistake some pointed remarks here as anything more than venting from a group of pilots that has been through a great deal of hardship and constant betrayal in the past 10 years. These pilots including SYD111 have plenty of wisdom and insight, and you will find that they have every reason to be angry and on edge. Trust me it is not directed at you.

We look forward to reliving some of our better days, and would gladly welcome you here to be part of that battle, if that is something you are considering.

All the best,

SP
