You have done what you can. Keep records or take a desktop snapshot if capable. If **** falls apart...**** falls apart.

Option 1 Call in honest/contractual.
Option 2 Call in sick.

If requested for a carpet dance...get union representation for the show.

Good luck to us all.
Summer is gonna suck.
A JCBA has the potential to make this job much better.

Ur reserve system is the stupidest thing ive ever seen. U have zero wuality of life and not only can ur trip change but ur show time can be even earlier. How have u lived like that for so long
Ual. U get or pick up a trip ur under no more obligation until u show for said trip. No taking it away or giving u an earlier show once notified.
Unreal. U better hope we get at least ual reserve rules and negotiate up from there

Could a Reserve Commuter chime in with a typical month commuting to IAH or EWR for reserve? How many nights in base, crash pad or hotel, how often can you get home on the last day of reserve, how many days off a month, ability to select a trip from open time, and any other pertinent QOL issues...

Sounds like reserve will be status quo until September, when the new JCBA provisions kick in. Is this correct?

Thanks!

At UAL when you are assigned or pick up a trip you are under no further obligation until you show for said trip. No taking it away or giving you an earlier show once notified.

Too bad. Didn't happen.

20-K-6-f A Short Call Reserve who is given an assignment that requires an intervening FAR rest period does not require the minimum notification requirements of a Long Call Reserve or a contractual Off-Duty Period.

20-K-6-f-(2) Example: A Short Call Reserve whose assignment begins at 0300 and ends at 1700 may be released from the assignment at 1300 and given a flying assignment that reports at 2300.

20-K-6-f-(3) Example: A Short Call Reserve whose assignment begins at 0600 and ends at 2000 may be released from the assignment at 0700 and given a flying assignment that reports at 1700.

Two years of EWR short call. Had to commute in on day prior as they assign almost all early callout periods. Essentially gave me 8 true days off per month. If you don't have an assignment you can go stir crazy in a hotel. Blocked Inn was a well known crash pad with a van. There were a couple of pilots who owned houses within walking distance of the Crowne Plaza Airport in Elizabeth. Take the hotel van, walk to crash pad. Ironbound is also has some crashpads. Can get around by city bus on time off. If you have a car more options of course.
