Default VJM, lost count on times

...so far this year, but 12 more days for 737s at all bases, from 20 Apr to 1 May.

Are they really that short? Thought average actual monthly hours was in the mid 60s from some report recently, so why the VJM notices?

What are the 737 line values looking like in EWR, IAH etc...

Clearly I'm missing something here.

We are all just over flying all together. I flew 964 actual hours last year. That's because I'm on the 737 slave driver. I had 3 weeks vacation and 4 sick calls for the whole year. They overwork you on the 737, plus they don't hire enough new people.

All of the locally based people in EWR love the VJM because they make a killing. It took all I had to not smack an idiot for bragging about picking up VJM in the weather room because as an FO in EWR because he grossed $15,000 last month. He said he needed the money. My rebuttal was "as if I don't also you jack***", but everytime you help crew scheduling out, they don't have to hire another pilot. Oh, and guess what genius, then they don't have to upgrade more people due to hiring more crews. I swear, these EWR guys are idiots sometimes. If you can't afford your current lifestyle, then spend less or move elsewhere so we can hire more people, therefore making yourself more senior. WOW, what a concept!

It's not just EWR pilots. Pilot's as a whole are some of the dumbest people. Constantly tripping over a dollar to pick up a dime.

It's not helping scheduling out a bit. They're just as stressed as we are because FLT OPS (the REAL culprits here) has given them a sh*t sandwich and THEY have to find the pilots to eat it. That's one of the biggest problems in our industry. The people who create the messes NEVER have to deal with them. And it's not only the EWR guys who are idiots, it ALL the bases and both positions............... Unfortunately, the people who created this shortage in staffing are moving up the totem pole and making more money, while everyone else gets crapped on.

964?!?!!?? Holy moly. That sounds seriously fatiguing. I tend to need landing practice when FO's junior man into my trips. He/she may be making more money than me on the ID, but they will be excellent on the radios when they are finished

FO's getting landings is the Captains perogative right?

That is one way to cut the nut - so to speak.
